Where did the L-29 Delfin go in Pennsylvania?

I remember reading about an Aero L-29 Delfin jet being transported to a “hidden home” somewhere in the Poconos a while back. It caught my attention because you don’t usually hear about Cold War-era jets ending up in private collections, especially in relatively remote areas. I tried finding the article again but I can’t remember the exact site. Does anyone know more about that plane or where it ended up? Just curious about the story and what might’ve happened to it. -

Yeah, I remember that too! The story made the rounds in aviation enthusiast circles because of the whole “undisclosed location” thing — felt a bit like something out of a spy novel. The jet was an Aero Vodochody L-29 Delfin, a Czech trainer used widely during the Cold War. Someone in Pennsylvania, presumably a collector or retired pilot, had it shipped in for preservation or display, but didn’t want to publicize the exact location. It was a cool read, especially if you’re into military surplus aviation or ex-Eastern Bloc aircraft. You can still find the full write-up on Kathryn’s Report here:

The article gives a quick overview of the aircraft’s background and hints at where it might be, though they never name the exact spot. Worth a look if you’re into aviation oddities — and it’s one of those pieces that sticks in your mind long after reading.
